His Excellency Yashuhi Horimoto the Ambassador of Japan to SI and Mrs Horimoto are the guest of honor for the handover of the 2 story building to Vanga RTC, Catholic Diocese of Gizo.
The handover ceremony on the 3rd June 2021 highlights speeches from different speakers who gave their wonderful speeches and appreciations to each other.

St. John Bosco Nila, Shortland Nila 9th School Graduation
Saint John Bosco School in the Shortlands has graduated about 70 students in the ninth ceremony in its History.
The PRIMARY SCHOOL school was built at the very beginning of the station by the Marist Fathers missionaries from Bouganville and was later run by the Dominican sisters and given back to the government in ’78. It was taken back by the church immediately after the earthquake and tsunami of April 2, 2007
A Visit to Promote Music, SPUTC.
Saint Peter Urban Training Center here in Gizo had the privilege of having Jeremy Donavan perform at the school compound on Wednesday 21st February 2024.
Accompanying him were staff from the Australian High Commission in Honiara and the Western Provincial Government representatives who were warmly welcomed by Bishop Peter Houhou, other diocesan staff, and the school staff.
Australian First Nation musician Jeremy traveled with the intention of promoting the music, artwork, history, and culture of his fellow Australian First Nations people.
During an hour of performance, he genuinely displayed some of his abilities with Native Australian music.

Dear Gizo Diocese collaborators, benefactors, people of God,
In my last message I only remember the most important things, I forget all the rest
What is the most important message I can leave you after these 24 years in the Solomons and 16 years in Gizo?
I came to Gizo right after the earthquake and tsunami of 2007 and I could notice the hardships you endured having been so affected... I saw the sadness in your eyes for being victims of such a great disaster. It was easy for me to look for a motto for my episcopacy. I saw my mission as one of ‘encouraging’, inspiring’ supporting you in your sufferings. “Lift up your hearts”... If I could only help you to ‘lift up your hearts’ you would have managed your sad situation in a better way and it would be a big joy for me and my mission as your shepherd. No one can help people to lift up their hearts if he/she himself/herself is downhearted. The faithful of the Gizo Diocese needed to stand up around a specific mission first individually and then together in communion.
To lift up the heart of others we need “courage” and “enthusiasm” in our personal life. The word “courage” comes from the Latin word “cor”, the heart, the center of passion for life, and the word “enthusiasm” comes from the Greek “En Theos” (with God) the motivating force of grace which supports all courage and all pastoral action.

For you a Bishop (for 16 years), with you a brother who loves you with a ‘solo’ heart made in Italy.
The Divine Mercy group at Moli has successfully ended their program with parishioners during the Solemnity of the Divine Mercy Sunday on the 16th of April.
Their program commenced on Saturday evening, which invited everyone to recite and expose to the Blessed Sacrament.
More Youths Involve in Easter Celebrations.
More youths around our diocese are involved in the Easter activities especially the dramatizing of the Passion Sunday (Palm Sunday), which commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, and the Dead and the Resurrection of Him.
Involving them through dramatizing Jesus riding on the Donkey and the fourteen Station of the Cross highlights the actual event happening 2000 years ago.
