Youth Leadership Seminar
Thirty Nine Youth leaders from Parishes around the Diocese of Gizo attended the week training Seminar here in Gizo Parish. The program commenced on the 22nd March, with the introduction from participants and warm welcomes from the Parish Priest, Bishop and the facilitators.
The Theme for the Seminar, “Youth Serving Youths” purposely for youth leaders help carry out the Youth Ministry and to identify some of the common root causes of youths in their parish etc... The program includes some facts about youth’s, problems of the youth today, the ideal youth and how to carry out planning, etc.
The youths have the opportunity to listen to their Bishop, Most Rev, Luciano Capelli sdb, who spoke on the “Liberated from this world”. Bishop’s speech challenged every youth leaders to be committed and make wise decision and bring one self (youths) away from every temptations. He also encouraged every youth leaders, not to be afraid, but courage. He said that, Jesus coming is not to entertain us, but to liberate us.
Groups were formed for group discussions, sharing’s which gave them time to reflect on questions. During their presentations, participants have privileged to contribute, comment and ask questions.
The highlight during the day’s session was the energies from the facilitators to keep them awake during sessions.
