Cardinal Francisco Coccopalmerio Visit New Establish School Nusabaruku.


His Eminence Cardinal Francisco Coccopalmerio visited the new established school at Nusabaruku yesterday 13 March in Gizo, Western province.

He was accompanied by two priests from Rome and Bishop Luciano Capelli sdb of the Diocese of Gizo.

They visited the kindergarten and the primary school where the teachers, students and parents warmly welcomed them.

There the headmistress of Gizo primary school and other teachers have a great privilege to convey their very sincerely thanks for such visit.

During their visit head of the school Miss Lester Thugea said that the establishment of the preparatory and the primary on Nusabaruku was just sudden.

She explained the year one Students were products of Gizo primary while the preps are the products of Gizo kindergarten last year.

She clarified that this year they are supposed to be in Gizo primary school, but due to various reason rising beyond their control, the Catholic Education Authority, Western Education Authority, the primary school teachers, Bishop of the diocese of Gizo and with the community of Nusabaruku, have come together and find ways to help these children, said Ms Lester.

Now the school known as Don Bosco primary and kindergarten has enrolled more than 120 children and likely to double up in 2 years time.

In reply, His Eminence Cardinal Francesco said that he was happy to visit the school.

Bishop Luciano Capelli sbd promised them for assistance, for a new school building that will locate uphill.

The visit took them by surprise as the community has no time to prepare and welcome them.

And the community also asked for a blessing from the visiting cardinal.

The cardinal who is the right hand man of Pope also affirmed them that they have a beautiful community with great dignity.

He reminded them that though they have different religious groups, and asked them to have one purpose; that is to love and care for each other.

The Cardinal will be visiting Nila schools and the mini hospital tomorrow, and for the opening of the kindergarten at Nila Shortland, and to Choiseul for the opening of a church building on Taro Island the following day.
