Cr. Ignatius Talifilu OP and Br. Charles Tani OP, committed themselves to a life of Chastity, obedience and poverty on 16th January 2005. Although it is their desire to commit themselves to the Lord forever, as required by the church, their first profession has been made for three years. Fr. Stephen Kamoa OP, Vicar-Provincial, accepted their profession at the St. Petere the Apostle Cathedral, Gizo on completion of their novitiate at the Dominican Novitiate House at Loga Island, Gizo, Western Province.

Family, parents, relatives and friends attended the liturgical celebration. The day’s celebration ended with feasting and cutting of the first profession cake prepared by the Dominican sisters at Loga. The two brothers are now studying for the priesthood at Bomana, PNG.

This photo shows the blessing of the oils for Easter. This was done early to correspond with all priests being"in town".
